First Run
Once you're logged in with the auto-generated admin credentials, there are a few things worth doing before you hand the panel out to other admins.
1. Change the admin password
Open Settings → Account (or equivalent in your build) and change the password. The default is random, but once it's been seen once it's been seen; rotate it.
Passwords are stored hashed with BCrypt. The plaintext is never kept anywhere.
2. Create additional admin / moderator accounts
Rather than sharing the admin account, create a user per person:
- Go to Settings → Users (or the Users panel in your build).
- Add an account with a role that matches their needs (admin, moderator, read-only).
- Share the credentials privately.
3. Verify the dashboard is live
The dashboard should show real numbers: player count, FPS, memory, and a ticking game day/time. If any of those are stuck at zero or blank, check the server console for errors. Usually it's a permissions issue on <SaveGameDir>/KitsuneCommand/.
4. Open the map
Navigate to the Map page. The first time it loads, SkiaSharp renders region tiles on demand, so the initial load can take a few seconds. After that, tiles are cached and map loads are fast.
5. Try the console
Open the Console page and run a harmless command like:
version
You should see the server respond in real time. If the console hangs, double-check that port 8889 (WebSocket) is reachable.
Next steps
- Wire up Discord: see Configuration → Discord.
- Set up the store and points economy from the Economy section of the panel.
- Review Configuration → appsettings.json if you need to change ports or token lifetimes.
