Discord Integration

KitsuneCommand ships with a first-party Discord bot for chat bridging, event notifications, and slash commands. All settings live in the web panel under Settings → Discord and are persisted to the database.

What it does

  • Chat bridge. Mirrors in-game chat into a Discord channel and (optionally) Discord messages back into the game.
  • Event notifications. Posts to a Discord channel when a player joins or leaves, when the server starts or stops, and when Blood Moon begins.
  • Slash commands. Exposes a set of / commands in Discord for quick server actions.
  • Status. Shows the current player count in the bot's Discord status.

Setting up the bot

  1. Create an application in the Discord developer portal and add a Bot user.
  2. Under OAuth2 → URL Generator, select bot and applications.commands, grant the bot Send Messages, Read Message History, and Use Slash Commands in the target channels.
  3. Copy the bot token into Settings → Discord → Bot Token.
  4. Copy the Channel ID (right-click the channel in Discord with developer mode on → Copy Channel ID) for your chat bridge and your events channel.
  5. Toggle Enabled on and save. The bot should come online in your server within a few seconds.
Keep the token private

The bot token grants full control of the bot account. Don't paste it into chat or commit it to a repo. The web panel stores it encrypted in the database.

Troubleshooting

  • Bot comes online but doesn't speak. Check channel permissions; the bot needs Send Messages in the configured channels.
  • Slash commands don't appear. Discord caches command registration for up to an hour. Restart the server once, and if they still don't show, flip SlashCommandsEnabled off and on to re-register.
  • Chat bridge one-way only. Make sure ChatBridgeEnabled is on and that the bot has Read Message History in the bridge channel.
